Teeling's Master Distiller Alex Chasko is renowned for his innovative cask selection when it comes to Irish Whiskey, creating expressions of true character. This collaboration with Akarua Winery who are located in the renowned Central Otago Wine Region on New Zealand's South Island. The Barrels previously contained their award-winning Pinto Noir Red Wine. Teeling's single malt whiskey was initially aged in bourbon barrels for the first 16 years before being finished for a further 12 months in Akarua's Red Wine Barrels. Limited to just 308 bottles, non-chill filtered and bottled at 57.4% ABV, this is truly an Irish Whiskey to savour.

An inviting nose where barbeque smoke and cloves are intermingled with fresh notes of butterscotch and orange peel. On the pallet a fascinating blend of Applewood smoke, honey and all spice are married with stewed pears and fresh grilled pineapple. This whiskey finishes with the return of a savoury smoke over a lingering wood undertone, which combines delightfully with notes of salted caramel.

The 15-Year-Old Japanese Edition is crafted from a recipe of corn and malted barley. It is initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for eleven years, followed by a secondary maturation in ex-Mugi Shochu Japanese Spirit casks for four years. It is bottled at 46%, with no chill filtration to capture all its natural identity and full intensity of flavour.

At Teeling Whiskey they believe in driving the evolution of Irish Whiskey through the creation of new and unique expressions. As part of this innovative mission, Teeling have been a pioneer in celebrating Irish Single Grain crafted using a recipe of 95% corn and 5% malted barley. The first in their Aged Single Grain series saw Teeling explore the influence of Bordeaux Red Wine Casks, while their newest release continues this exploration by focusing on the influence of ex-Sauvignon Blanc casks on the Single Grain. This Limited Edition 15 Year Old Bottling was matured initially in ex-Bourbon casks before being given extra maturation for a further twelve months in ex-Sauvignon Blanc Casks. Proudly bottled at 50% ABV with no chill filtration ensuring all the true character of the whiskey is retained.
