KI NO TEA was created in collaboration with tea-grower and blender, Hori-Shichimeien, founded in the Meiji era in 1879. Based in the famous Uji region to the south of Kyoto city, a number if super-premium Uji teas have been specially selected to form the heart of KI NO TEA. Tencha and Gyokuro provide intense aromas and depth of flavour with a wonderful sweetness that occurs naturally in the distillation of these superior teas.

It is said that a ship carrying one of the largest quantities of black spiced rum ever to be brought over from the Caribbean Islands, for unexplained reasons, never reached its destination. Stories were plentiful, and while an attack by the Kraken is suspected, no stories were ever confirmed. The Kraken Rum is an imported blend of Caribbean rums, blended with a range of spices including cinnamon, clove, and ginger. Named for the sea beast of myth and legend, The Kraken Rum is bold, rich, black and smooth.

A limited run of 7,824 bottles this whisky is made from New Zealand Laureate grain and as aged in virgin French oak casks. Scapegraces Master Distiller , Anthony Lawry, describes the whisky as having flavours of citrus blossom and poached pears. Elegant all-spice. The whisky reaches back longer than the Scapegrace distillery itself as Doug and Anthony started making this whisky long before Scapegrace put its branding on the barrels.
