George Fistonich started Villa Maria as a one-man band in 1961. An icon of the NZ wine industry, this family owned company became a global brand in just 50 years. Villa Maria's Cellar Selection is an intensely flavoured, elegant and food-friendly wine range.

Crisp and clean this is our most successful vintage of Sauvignon blanc and is perfectly suited to the local Te Matuku Oysters which are farmed close to Man O' War, or similarly the abundant seafood that thrive in the surrounding coastal waters.

Upon release it is deep ruby in colour. The nose is brimming with vibrant red fruit including plum, raspberry and cherry. There are also hints of spice, vanilla and chocolate, with some underlying savoury notes. The wine is mouth-filling, yet balanced with plush velvety tannins, refreshing acidity and a prolonged finish.

Produced from Central Otago fruit this is a wine with spicy red fruits on the nose. Medium bodied with red cherry and currant notes on the palate. Enjoy with all manner of duck dishes.
